The University of Birmingham and Vodafone have partnered to create a brand new degree apprenticeship programme. This level 6 degree apprenticeship means tuition fees are fully paid for by Vodafone, and students will also receive a monthly salary.

Technology impacts every one, every day and we are all experiencing a digital transformation on a global scale, our partnership with Vodafone will put you at the forefront of advancing technologies. Being part of this will enable you to study for a Computer Science degree whilst gaining invaluable experience in a global technology organisation.

Vodafone guarantee industry experience during your summer vacation after your first year, plus, a whole year during the 3rd year of your degree. You’ll then return to study the final year of your degree back at the University of Birmingham.

One of the best things about this degree apprenticeship is, you will be paid a competitive salary by Vodafone whilst studying and during your industry experience placements, and your tuition fees will be fully paid too!

Upon successful completion, Vodafone will guarantee you a job.

Applicants who meet the academic requirements for Computer Science degrees who are not offered an apprenticeship position will be made an offer of a place for our G400 BSc Computer Science programme.

A level AAA A level Mathematics grade A required. If you are taking any reformed science A levels, which include Biology, Chemistry and Physics taught from 2015, you must pass the practical element.
General Studies or Critical Thinking not accepted.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) D*D* plus A-level Maths at grade A.
BTEC Extended Diploma qualifications will only be considered if accompanied by A level Mathematics.
Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal Accepted in place of A levels with the following grade equivalencies: D2 = A*; D3 = A; M2 = B. Combinations of A levels and Principle subjects are accepted. NB required subjects must be offered (see A level Section)
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme 32 points 6, 6, 6 required at Higher Level (including 6 in Mathematics), with a minimum of 32 points overall.
Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (first teaching September 2015) Accepted in place of a non-required A level with the equivalent grade.

Additional fee information

There is no fee payable for this programme and applicants selected for the Apprenticeship will receive a monthly salary from Vodafone throughout the duration of the programme. Those not offered an apprenticeship position who are offered a place on our standard BSc Computer Science programme will be liable to pay the standard undergraduate fee for that programme.
