Our BSc (Hons) Financial Mathematics degree course is designed with your future employability in mind. Modules deliver core mathematics topics but with the addition of financial methods used in business.You’ll explore cutting-edge themes like economic stability and artificial intelligence, so your skills are relevant for financial and commercial sectors. You’ll also study the principles of economics, with learning methods developed to give you experience in business practices. • Expand your mathematical repertoire and strengthen your existing knowledge of linear algebra, calculus and probability
• Develop detailed mathematical modules for financial derivatives, using the Black-Scholes differential equation, Martingales and Fourier Transforms
• Grasp the key concepts of modern economics, including how markets function as the foundation of contemporary economies
• Learn probability models and distribution theory, skills in statistics and data analysis, using sophisticated statistical software packages

Year one modules may include: Linear Algebra, Mathematical Methods 1, Mathematical Modelling, Probability, Organisations in a Global Environment, Principles of Economics. Year two modules may include: Mathematics of Financial Derivatives 1, Mathematical Methods 2, Mathematical Modelling 2, Statistics, Financial Markets and Instruments, plus one from the following: Law in a Business Context, University Wide Language. Year three modules may include: Mathematics of Financial Derivatives 2, Financial Risk Management, Project, Operational Research, plus one from the following: International and Business Finance, Management Accounting for Control, Business Taxation.
