UCEN Manchester (The Manchester College) has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
The HND in Jewellery & Contemporary Design Crafts programme aims to train the designers of tomorrow in both traditional and up to the minute technologies and skills. Our bespoke course is for students who are interested in specialising in the production of a range of jewellery and allied products.
In the first year, you will investigate materials areas of metal, plastics & ceramics. There will also be an opportunity to work with wood & textiles. You will focus on designing and creating contemporary jewellery & related accessories.
You continue into the second year through more independent research and self-directed work developing your own style.

Mature applicants (aged 21 or over) who are able to demonstrate relevant skills or knowledge gained in employment or vocational activity will be considered and may be invited to interview.
Additional entry requirements
Applicants are required to attend an interview and bring a portfolio of work that demonstrates a range of creative thinking and technical skills applied to art and design related projects.
Interviews typically last about half an hour.
