Our lecturers are passionate about their subject, with modules informed by cutting-edge research in fundamental mathematical abstractions, statistics, and practical applications to global problems. You may be able to try units in quantum mechanics or mathematical biology, or take the opportunity to mentor and learn from students studying the same subject overseas. Vocational units, currently including Financial Risk Management and Maths in Schools, prepare you for a successful career in industry. In your final year, there is the opportunity for project work supervised by one of our world-leading experts, which may inspire you to pursue further study. Support for your studies is always available, including drop-in sessions with lecturers, exercise and feedback classes, and student-led Maths Cafés. Think Big bursaries of £3,000 are available to support first-year international undergraduate students in this subject area.

Qualification requirements

European Baccalaureate: 90% overall, with 9.0 in Mathematics and 8.5 in another mathematics-related subject. Mathematics-related subjects include Biology; Chemistry; Computer Science; Economics; and Physics. STEP paper achievement may be included as part of an alternative offer.
