University of Hertfordshire has opted into the TEF and received a Gold award.
Our BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science degree fulfils the requirements to be eligible to apply for registration as a paramedic with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
It is the first nationally to integrate full paramedic training to the Health and Care Professions Council registration standards within a full-time degree programme.
The BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science degree course will give you the professional knowledge and clinical assessment skills you need to become a confident, autonomous paramedic working within the emergency environment.

|International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme||1 HL subject at grade 5 or above and 1 HL subject at grade 4 or above, one of which must be a natural science.|
Applicants should be in possession of a full UK/EU driving licence (with a maximum of 3 penalty points) with category B (car), by 31st August of the year of entry.
Offers are subject to interview, Enhanced DBS check and Occupational Health screening.
Applicants must be physically fit in order to undertake clinical placements, which will involve ambulance duties. This includes (but is not limited to):
lifting and carrying of equipment
climbing flights of stairs
moving and handling patients
undertaking a variety of shifts, including night-work
Please note, Graduates will be considered – a minimum of 2:2 (lower second class) undergraduate degree in a science or healthcare subject. Health care professionals with relevant qualifications and experience will be considered on an individual basis.
We will consider applicants who have undertaken Open University modules / courses in science subjects.
