The Healthcare Practice HND is designed to provide a specialist vocational programme, with a strong work related emphasis. The course will develop practical skills and knowledge essential for jobs in the growing care sector, and will be delivered in our Higher Education building at our Openshaw campus.
It will equip you with underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for success in employment in the health and/or social care sector at a supervisory or management level. The course will develop specialist knowledge relevant to jobs and professions within Health and Social care to enable you to progress in your current role or gain employment in the health and/or social care sector. You will develop the range of skills, techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance and progression in your working life.
This course also aims to prepare you to progress in your academic and professional development, leading to further advanced professional qualifications.
This course is supported by focused study in areas of health and social care including specially designed units. You will be given the opportunity to develop and contribute to the health and social care environment through the combination of the knowledge and skills gained in different parts of the programme.

HNC Health and Social Care
We strongly recommend that all applicants have GCSE English Language and Mathematics grades A*-C or level 9-4.
We understand that not all applicants may have these and encourage you to contact us to discuss further options available.
Applicants who do not meet the standard entry criteria but have previous learning towards a degree-level qualification or relevant industry or life experience will be considered on an individual basis and may be invited to interview.
