The foundation year will provide an introduction to information technology tools, mathematical skills and programming concepts. You will then progress to discover data modelling, web design, E-commerce and applied graphics to name a few fields. This course will help you attain the knowledge and understanding to make a substantial contribution to the workplace. Our enthusiastic staff will teach you through the medium of lectures, seminars, tutorials, practicals and individual or group based project work.
Employability skills are the core values of our degree. As part of your degree, you will be required to take part in a residential weekend where you and other students will have work in teams to solve problems. The following entry points are available for this course:

|GCSE/National 4/National 5||A minimum grade C or grade 4 pass in GCSE (or equivalent) English or Welsh is a requirement for entry to all our degree schemes. Level 3 KS/FS Communication may be acceptable in lieu of GCSE English or Welsh. For this degree scheme minimum grade C or grade 4 pass in GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics is also required.|
This course, which includes a foundation year, is specifically designed to provide an alternative route into higher education to study one of our degrees in a relevant subject area. You may be eligible for this course if you are qualified to enter higher education but do not have the relevant formal qualifications at A level (or equivalent), if you come from a non-traditional academic background, or if you have not yet achieved your full academic potential. Your background education, experience and motivation for the subject will all be taken into account when we consider your application for this course.
