Education Studies with Special Educational Needs and Inclusion is an innovative strand that engages students in debates about the contestability of Special Educational Needs and Inclusion by exploring these concepts from theoretical and practice-based perspectives. Our Special Educational Needs and Inclusion strand runs alongside the Education Studies programme and each academic year students will take two SENI modules alongside their four other Education Studies modules. There is recognition that education is not confined to schools, and that it has become global. Learning is to be found in a wide range of settings and institutions, such as the family, communities and the workplace, and through the languages we use to convey thought. This idea will permeate your studies. Central to this programme is the examination of the idea that learning can take place in many different locations and many of these will be examined and evaluated.
