The English programme at University Centre Shrewsbury has been carefully designed to broaden and deepen your understanding of literature, with options to study creative writing and film. You will have opportunities to enrich your knowledge and gain key skills through studying a diverse range of texts.

Assessment method

Teaching methods involve lectures, seminars, one-to-one tutorials, workshops, and online activities. Students will also benefit from talks by visiting experts and writers, as well as visits to the theatre, literary festivals and other relevant events. Assessment methods include: written coursework (essays, reviews, projects, research diaries), examinations, and oral presentations (both individual and group work). Each assessment relates to the learning outcomes of the programme, ensuring you gain the required skills at each level of study.
