The Cert Ed incorporates the LSIS mandatory modules for teaching qualifications, New Overarching Professional Standards for Teachers and additional modules to support trainee’s subject specialism.
The Cert Ed requires 100 hours of mandatory teaching practice during the period of training 8 of which will be observed. Nescot will help to provide teaching practice placement for full time applicants in the following areas Plumbing, Electricals, painting and decorating, Carpentry, Special Education Needs, hair dressing, performing arts, Health and social care and Early Years. Placement places are limited and are distributed on first come first serve basis.

If you already have a 2019 application and are in Clearing, you can add this course as a Clearing choice in Track – contact the university or college first to check they have places.
If your application is completed by the following date, it’s guaranteed to be considered:

Students are required to hold at least grade 4 or equivalent in English and Maths at GCSE and a HNC, HND, or Level 3 in their subject specialism.
