Our six-year (excluding the opt-out Intercalated BSc) Extended Medical Degree Programme MBBS (EMDP) is specifically designed for students who are studying A-levels or Access to Medicine at a non-selective state school, or who are participants of Realising Opportunities across England. The programme offers a more graduated introduction to medical study than the 6 year MBBS programme and provides greater academic and pastoral support.

A level ABB Including grade A in either Biology or Chemistry and grade B in the other. If you are taking linear A levels in England, you will also be required to pass the practical endorsement in all science subjects.

Please note that A-level General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills and Global Perspectives are not accepted by King's as one of your A levels. However, if offered the grade achieved may be taken into account when considering whether or not to accept a candidate who has just fallen short of the conditions of their offer.

QAA Access to Medicine/Dentistry HE Diploma taken at an eligible UK Further Education College full time over one year may be considered.

Of the 45 Level 3 credits, 30 credits must be from units at Distinction with 15 Level 3 credits at Merit. Selectors will be looking for an appropriate amount of Level 3 Chemistry and Biology.

Additionally, GCSE grade 6/B (or equivalent) in both English language and Mathematics required.
Scottish Higher ABB Must be taken in addition of two Scottish Advanced Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject.
Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal D3, M2, M2 Including D3 in either Biology or Chemistry and M2 in the other.
Combinations of Pre-U principal subjects and other qualifications (such as A-levels) considered.
GCSE/National 4/National 5 All applicants must obtain or have obtained grade 6 or B in both GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme 35 points including 6,5,5 at Higher Level with HL6 in either Biology or Chemistry and HL5 in the other.
Note the total point score of 35 includes TOK/EE.

Additionally: Grade 5 SL is required in both English language and Mathematics, if not offered at GCSE.
Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) Not accepted
