Course summary

In this programme you will study a full programme of mathematics and gain exposure to the world of management by taking management and enterprise options from within the Business School.

The BSc in Mathematics with Management can be taken as a broad programme where you will study courses in other subjects in Years 1 and 2. These may be in related areas such as physics or informatics or from the wide and varied range offered across the University.

It is also possible for well-prepared applicants to follow an accelerated programme in which you start in Year 2. You will concentrate on mathematics in your initial year, with one course in management.

You will be supported with extra courses covering the key ideas in algebra, calculus and proofs and problem-solving from year 1 of the programme.

A level AAB - A*AA Grades must be achieved in one set of exams. Required subjects: A Level: Mathematics at grade A. Further Mathematics is recommended.
Scottish Higher AAAB - AAAA These grades must be achieved by end of S5. If you haven't achieved this by the end of S5 we may consider your application based on a strong performance in S6. A minimum of BBB must be achieved in one year of S4-S6. Required subjects: Higher: Mathematics at grade A. We strongly recommend that you study Advanced Higher Mathematics.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme 37 - 32 points Award of Diploma with 37 points with 666 at HL - 32 points with 655 at HL. Required subjects: HL: Mathematics (from 2021, Mathematics: Analysis and approaches only) at grade 6.

Scotland In 2019 the fee level set by the Scottish Government was £1,820. The 2020 fee rate is expected to be confirmed by the Scottish Government in early 2020. Students must apply to the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) for payment of their tuition fees. England/Wales/N Ireland The Rest of UK (RUK) rate is yet to be confirmed and was £9,250 for 2019 entry. For 2020 entry this may increase in line with inflation and will be subject to government limits. EU 2020 entry EU students will be admitted as Scottish/EU fee status students, will retain that status for the duration of their studies, and are eligible for tuition fee support from the Scottish Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS).
