Applying your learning to Art & Design specialisms, you will be actively encouraged to make relevant links to areas within the creative industries.
You will study two qualifications, receiving a nationally recognised Higher Education qualification at the end of each year - Higher National Certificate (first year) and Higher National Diploma (second year). During the first year of the course you will explore a broad range of subjects and processes, including Fine Art Painting, Print-Making, Sculpture, Graphic Design, Animation, Lens-based Media and Installation and Display.
Whilst in your second year, you will select your own, more specialised pathway. Focusing on professional practice, you will undertake real work experience to gain essential skills for your career.

Throughout the two years, you’ll be taught across a range of core and specialist units consisting of 240 credits. Your assessment for each unit will differ; from preparing research and work journals to portfolios and exhibited artwork.

You will need to have achieved one of the following: Foundation Diploma in a relevant subject, BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in a relevant subject, A-Level at Grade C or above in a creative subject.
You will also be required to present a portfolio of artwork to demonstrate your commitment and suitability for our course.
In order to progress to the second year HND, you will need to successfully complete the HNC in the first year.
