City College Plymouth has opted into the TEF and received a Gold award.
Civil engineers help to create the structures and systems that sustain society. They are responsible for designing, building, maintaining and improving bridges, roads, canals, docks, office buildings, hospitals, schools, airports, power stations, railways, flood defences, and water-treatment facilities everywhere.
Students will study the key knowledge and competencies required in the Civil Engineering sector. Students will study key areas of engineering such as Mathematics, Materials, Construction processes and procedures. There is a key design element incorporated into the programme through a structural analysis and design module and you will embark on a design project using computer aided design and industry standard software. There is also a managerial element to the HNC focusing on the industry which could lead into well paid managerial pathways.
