The course meets the growing demand for masters level professionals in finance and accounting. It is suitable if you are from a general finance background and wish to gain specialist knowledge in accounting and finance, or if you have an accounting background and would like to extend and update your knowledge and skills. This course is respected for its innovative practice-based teaching and the development of applied knowledge and skills within the modern financial business environment. By studying updated literature, international accounting standards, worldwide events and companies financial accounts, you learn how real organisations operate and the accounting and financial strategies and decisions they implement. International students who are ACCA passed finalists or qualified accountants can convert their ACCA qualifications to a UK masters on our MSc Accounting and Finance ACCA Fast Track Route. This course is delivered face-to-face over three semesters - teaching is scheduled based on the length of your course and the academic calendar. Many of the tutors are from industry and are well connected with professional accountancy bodies, researching professional knowledge, developing professional syllabi and designing professional assessments. Entry requirements

Normally one of the following in a relevant subject* A good honours degree; A recognised postgraduate qualification; An equivalent recognised professional qualification *Relevant subjects include: accounting; banking; economics; finance; financial services. If you do not have such academic qualifications we may consider your application individually, based on your personal, professional and work experience, and other formal qualifications. You may also be able to claim credit points which can reduce the amount of time it takes to complete your qualification at Sheffield Hallam. Overseas applicants from countries whose first language is not English must normally produce evidence of competence in English. An IELTS score of 6.0 with 5.5 in all skills, is the standard for non-native speakers of English. If your English language skill is currently below an IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in all skills we recommend you consider a Sheffield Hallam University Pre-sessional English course which will enable you to achieve an equivalent English qualification.
