Chichester’s Politics, Philosophy and Ethics degree offers a unique approach to understanding the most compelling and long-standing questions of society, morality and existence. This programme is split equally between the Politics and Philosophy departments, so academic experts in both disciplines will teach you. You will explore questions of social justice, bio-ethics, and the nature of truth from different historical and contemporary philosophical perspectives. You will also be introduced to contemporary political issues, from political economy to security studies, and have developed the analytical skills and research abilities that will serve you well in the world of work. By the end of this degree, you will be an authority in the complex and complementary relationship between Politics, Philosophy and Ethics.

IELTS (Academic) 6.0
PTE Academic 50.0

The standard entry requirement for this programme is IELTS 6.0 with no element lower than 5.5. However, you can begin your 3-year degree programme with IELTS 5.5. Our International Route allows you to take 4 credit-bearing modules in International English Studies (IES) as part of your first year studies. This means you study 4 modules in your chosen subject and 4 in International English. The IES Modules allow you to focus on personal language development and your use of English as an academic language. Then, at the end of your first year, you’ll have all the necessary language skills to transfer to full study of your main subject. If you have an IELTS score under 5.5 you can still begin a 3-year degree programme with us. In this case we provide a 5 or 10 week intensive Presessional Programme in English language and academic skills. For the 10 week Programme you’ll need IELTS 4.5, and IELTS 5.0 for the 5 week Programme.

Further details of our international entry requirements can be found on our website.
