Would you like to hone your acting skills and release your inner auteur? This challenging and contemporary course combines comprehensive performance training with modules in directing, writing and devising and should set you on the path towards becoming a professional modern ‘theatre-maker’.

You will explore and experiment with a range of theory and practice, reinterpreting existing repertoire and creating original works. As part of an ensemble of versatile creative practitioners, you will then produce a number of works such as plays, musicals, theatre, dance, physical theatre, performance art and scenography.

Creative collaboration and networking are integral to the course, offering you opportunities to work with fellow students, academia and industry professionals.

The foundation year course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to continue onto your Honours degree. You will study a range of subjects that will underpin your future study and also gain valuable experience of university life, with full access to campus facilities. Successful completion of the year allows you to progress straight onto Level 4 of this course.
