This BA degree is for people who want to combine being an artist with becoming a filmmaker of the future.

Our unique Experimental Film Production degree lets you combine being a creative artist with becoming a filmmaker of the future. It is ideal if you’re interested in establishing a career in film, television and the arts.

It’s a practical production course that allows you to expand your artistic and creative horizons.

You’ll have access to our media production centre, including purpose-built sound studios and film studios. This will provide you with the facilities to produce innovative and creative films in the areas of experimental film via technical, conceptual and aesthetic exploration. You’ll develop ideas and use creativity to challenge audience perceptions of traditional film making.

On successful completion of study, we will issue the following award: BA (Hons) Experimental Film Production

Year 1 Core: Cinema Studies, Craft Skills For Film Production, Film Production Processes, Ideas Development & Pre Production.

Year 2 Core: Advanced Craft Skills for Film Production, How to Experiment! Developing Experimental Film-making Practice, Fiction Film Production, Film Industry Practice, Screenwriting.

Year 3 Core: BA Film Project, Contextual Studies & Research Methods, Option: Creative Film Specialism, Option: Interactive Filmmaking, Personal Presentation & Portfolio
