Our intensive two-year accelerated degree in primary education will develop your awareness of current practice in primary schools and early years settings.
You will be taught by specialists who have links in primary education and have the chance to gain hands-on experience on school-based placements. This degree course is ideal if you want to gain Qualified Teacher Status by applying for a School Direct or PGCE course once you've graduated.

Academic Methods (15 credits)
History and Politics of Primary Education (30 credits)
Induction (BA H Primary Education 2 Year Accelerated Degree) (15 credits)
Preparation for ITE, Employability or Further Study (15 credits)
Child Psychology and Development 1 (30 credits)

Year 2

Students are required to study the following compulsory modules.
Personalised Learning 2 (15 credits)
Engaging Primary Learners (30 credits)
Critical Perspectives on Contemporary Issues in Primary and Early Years Education (30 credits)
The Child and the Primary Curriculum (30 credits)
Technology Enhanced Primary Education (15 credits)
Enquiry Project (2 Year Accelerated Degree) (30 credits)
Analysis of School and Enrichment Placements (15 credits)
Child Psychology and Development 2 (15 credits)

Assessment method

Students will have range of assessment experiences, including:
Essays
Presentations (group, and individual)
An assessed debate
A comparative study
Reports
A personal statement and employment preparation
Annotated bibliographies
A research project.
