The course give students a good command of the key management disciplines and their interaction, including finance, marketing, business law and human resources; students are able to develop their research, strategic planning, operational management and leadership abilities during practical activities such as case analysis, simulations and placements; importantly, the programme develops their understanding of successful business strategy and effective project management and students study the influence that global and national macroeconomic trends have on a company.
Strategic management in a global context; international marketing, innovation and e-commerce; international leadership and entrepreneurship; managing finance and operations; information systems and data management; international human resource management and change; dissertation.
Assessment is by assignments based on the six taught modules together with a 15,000-word dissertation based on the candidate’s own organisation, or an organisation that the candidate is intimately familiar with.
Students must have the equivalent of a 1st degree, with a minimum classification of 2.2. Students may also apply if they hold a professional qualification, or an overseas equivalent qualification. We welcome applications from all those interested in furthering their education, particularly mature students. So, if you do not meet the general entry requirements but can demonstrate that your life/work skills would make you suitable, you should still consider applying. Students must have previously been taught in English and have sufficient command of English to undertake postgraduate study or have an IELTS (or equivalent) score of 6.5 or better.
