A Scots law degree [LLB] is not only the first step towards qualifying as a lawyer but is also an excellent springboard to many other professions, particularly those related to business and finance

Fully accredited by the Law Society of Scotland, the LLB will enable you to apply for the Diploma in Legal Practice (also known as PEAT 1), the next step on the way to becoming a qualified solicitor or advocate in Scotland.

GCSE Grade C or 4 English is required and GCSE Maths is recommended.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) DMM Minimum grades DMM (Distinction, Merit, Merit) in a related subject.

GCSE Grade C or 4 English is required and GCSE Maths is recommended.
Access to HE Diploma D: 12 credits
M: 33 credits
Pass Access to HE Diploma in a related subject with 45 credits overall with minimum 33 Credits at Merit & 12 Distinction.

English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent also required.
Scottish Higher ABBB Including one of English/Latin/History/Law/Philosophy/Modern Studies. ESOL can be considered at grade A.

National 5 grade C English is required and National 5 Maths is recommended.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme 29 points Award of Diploma with 29 points overall with three HL subjects at grades 6, 5, 4 including one of English/Latin/History/Law/Philosophy/Modern Studies at minimum grade 5.

4 points in SL English is required and SL Maths is recommended..
Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) H2, H2, H2, H3 Grades H2, H2, H2, H3 at Higher Level to include one of English/Latin/History/Law/Philosophy/Modern Studies

Grade O4 at Ordinary Level in English is required and Ordinary level Maths is recommended.

HNC for entry to year 1 only - Pass in Legal Services with A in the graded unit.

HND for entry to year 1 only - Pass in Legal Services with Grades BB at SCQF Level 8 in the graded units. Must have achieved Grade A at HNC.
