Solihull College & University Centre has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
A technologically focused degree aimed at providing students with a rounded understanding of Computing systems employed within Industry. This course considers how business drives the demand for technology and how technology supports new areas of business. Students will study the development of cutting-edge web sites, investigate the interactivity in modern interface design, analyse commercial activities and the processes within project management.

The course is delivered through a range of lectures, seminars, group practicals, workshops, discussion forums and tutorials.
Learners will be expected to undertake both group-led and independent learning and will need to undertake guided reading to support the taught subjects. During the academic year, students will develop research skills, organisational skills, analytical thinking and the production of an employment portfolio. Students will also receive the support of a Personal Tutor, assigned during the induction period.

The third year contacts hours are 6 in total
Qualified teacher status (QTS)

Additional entry requirements
Institutions Own Test (IOT)
Applicants who do not meet the standard entry criteria but have appropriate industry and life experiences will have their prior learning and skills taken into account. Applicants may be required to complete an Aptitude assessment (this will be advised at interview).
All applicants are required to attend an interview and will be notified of the date via email and UCAS Track. Applicants applying from outside the West Midlands alternative interview arrangements can be made for you but we strongly encourage all prospective applicants come along to view Solihull College and University Centre’s facilities and meet the teaching teams.
At Interview original certificates including GCSE’s will be required, applicants applying for our Early Years courses will be required to bring evidence of DBS check, Art & Design and Media students a portfolio or show reel will also be required for interview.
Mature students who do not meet the standard entry criteria but have appropriate industry and life experiences will have their prior learning and skills taken into account.
Please allow 28 working days from receiving of your application to a decision being made and UCAS Track to be updated. This time may increase if there is missing information from your application (applicants will be contacted directly to request this) or during busy application periods such as 15th January equal consideration date and possibly February.
Applicants will be required to bring with them a completed assignment of your choice that you feel demonstrates your achievement
English language requirements
Students who are non-native English speakers, or who have not studied the final two years of school in English, but can demonstrate capability in English at a standard commensurate to IELTS 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 being awarded on individual sections for a level 4, 5 or 6 qualification, will be considered as eligible to apply for the programme/course.
