Course summary

This course is for anyone who wants vocational experience while developing an
extensive knowledge of sports management issues and concepts within the leisure
industry. It will give you the relevant skills and abilities to work in the private, public
or voluntary sector.
You will also work towards coaching qualifications, a Level 2 gym instructor
qualification and a safety steward qualification.

Year 1 (Level 4): • sports coaching • fitness and exercise industries • sports marketing • an introduction to sports development • managing sport organisations • research methods and professional development Year 2 (Level 5): • sports coaching and workforce management • stadia and sports facilities management • managing performance and elite sports environments • community sports development • sustainable employability and empowerment skills

Assessment method

Assessments include phased tests, reports, portfolios, practical activity, work logs, reflective writing and presentations.
