Course summary

This programme is aimed at those wanting to work in the creative media sector in industries as varied as film, TV or advertising. The course provides you with underpinning knowledge of creative media techniques and theoretical frameworks to underpin these. There is an emphasis on the development of skills, research skills, teamwork and practical skills such as editing, camera work, sound design and directing. The course will develop practical skills for camera work, editing and directing, and provide opportunities for students to conduct work experience in the creative media sector. The Level 5 Diploma builds upon the understanding of the techniques used in film and video editing, and will prepare students who may wish to progress to Level 6 ‘Top Up’ degree opportunities.
