Course summary

Develop a comprehensive understanding of global business and economics and take your career to the next level with our Master's degree. Study in Cambridge or Chelmsford. ARU's MSc International Business with Economics is designed to appeal to both those with prior working experience and knowledge of economics or international trade and business and also those new to the subject. The course is developed to equip you with theoretical and practical skills of economics to excel in an international trade and business context. Using a multidisciplinary approach you’ll draw on insights from analysis of global political economy, organisational studies, international marketing and brand management, and management of finance. There’s the option to study with us for two years, and gain valuable experience in Year 2, with a choice of professional experience modules. Acquiring knowledge and insights from a range of topics will enable you to develop a diverse skillset to foster your career aspirations. These skills include the ability to conduct international market research, to undertake risk analysis, utilise web and social media to heighten the effectiveness of the marketing tools in the global marketplace and reflect critically on strategic and organisational issues. If you already have work experience, this Masters course will help you to further develop your professional competence. It will also help your understanding of applying economic theory in the management decision process.

Assessment method

We’ll assess your progress in a number of ways, mainly through informal question and answer sessions. You can also expect individual and group presentations, management reports, exams, presentation or written analysis of case studies, and assignments. Our assessment strategy is linked closely to your employability. You'll develop skills that can be transferred to the professional environment such as team work, communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work under pressure.


Entry requirements

A first degree, with honours, in a related subject and at a minimum final classification of lower second (2:2) or equivalent.
