Course summary

Our Masters in Management courses will help you shape your leadership and management skills to become an effective manager, able to operate in dynamic and complex organisational environments. You will gain an excellent understanding of the core subjects, enabling you to put to theory and contemporary thinking into practice. The MSc Management award offers a generalist course which develops a critical understanding of the central principles of management. You will engage with topical and emerging management concerns, including managing and leading projects and organisations across cultures. You will also explore innovation and entrepreneurial thinking, and refine your critical understanding of management theory. The unique selling points for this course are personalisation, application of learning into real world practice, an opportunity to take part in company visits, and studying Responsible and Sustainable Management. In your third semester, you’ll choose an experiential project. With the opportunity to use your skills in a real-world setting, you can choose from completing a consultancy experience project, or a business research project. Designed for aspiring leaders, this degree is aimed at students with either no background in business and management who want to develop a career in this field, or those who have a qualification in business and management but want to become more competitive and progress their careers. Assessment method

A range of assessment methods are used across the course, the choice of which reflects the needs and demands of the different types of module. Some modules will assess the ability to work collaboratively in a team and others will assess individual capability. Types of assessment will range from examinations to group presentations including essays, reports, financial analyses, literature reviews and research based projects. The interactive nature of the taught sessions offers opportunities to gain feedback on your performance before being formally assessed and increasing use is made of eLearning to further support the feedback process.

Entry requirements

For the one year course, you will need a degree equivalent to a UK undergraduate honours degree (2.2 or above). For the two year course, you will need a degree equivalent to a UK undergraduate honours degree (2.1 or above). All applicants will be required to demonstrate a commitment to the subject they wish to study and should demonstrate how their chosen programme of study will benefit them in their future career.


English language requirements

For 1-year Masters you'll need IELTS 6.5 overall with minimum of 5.5 in each component. We accept a range of English language tests and qualifications for students from all over the world. Visit our website for more details.
