Course summary
TEF Silver
University of Central Lancashire has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
Foundation Entry degree courses are designed for students who have the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to enter directly onto their chosen Honours degree programme. This degree, accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), is designed to provide you with a sound understanding of accounting and financial studies and is ideal if you’re interested in a financial or related consultancy career within the accountancy profession, industry or commerce. This course provides a sound understanding of accounting and financial studies for students interested in a financial or related consultancy career within the accountancy profession, industry or commerce. It would also be of interest to those seeking to service these industries, such as a career in information systems development. Such a course may therefore be described as satisfying the education needs of a student seeking to obtain the skills necessary to become a financially astute professional, making real changes, and contributing to the creation of new systems for business, but who do not see qualifying as an accountant as a necessary prerequisite for such a career. This course may, therefore, be described as going further than a traditional course in accounting in providing the skills required by finance professionals who are often not provided within the framework of a more traditional undergraduate accounting education. However, this course is also eminently suited to those who think that they may ultimately wish to pursue a career as a professional accountant.
