Course summary

Prepare thoroughly for a rewarding financial career with a legal slant. From financial systems and methods, through to employment and intellectual property law, this multi-accredited degree makes sure you have the legal side of finance covered. Combining Accounting and Finance with Law builds up a specific understanding of the interrelation between legal side of business and finance. Get set to think in different ways, unleash your creativity and explore the legal core of the financial world.  Work placements and study abroad options We focus on your future career. This means you can hit the ground running, thanks to live business projects and simulations set by companies such as  Sky, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Children 1st. You’ll graduate with a CV enhanced with real-world projects set by industry, work placements and even the option to study abroad.

Modules

Year 1 core modules (subject to change) - ANF101 Introduction to Accounting; BMT101 Nature of Management; ANF102 Finance & Statistics; BMT108 Business Economics; LAW100 Legal Systems & Methods. You will also be able to select elective/option modules. For detailed module information please check our website.

Assessment method

Assessment varies substantially across modules. Some modules, particularly where there is professional accreditation, have more traditional assessments such as exams. However, where we can, we like to vary the types of assessment. Therefore students can expect to create presentations, videos, posters, reports, research outputs, practical exercises, strategic papers, design processes or products and so on. As the programme has multiple options, students will be able to experience a wide range of assessments.

Standard Qualification Requirements

Applicants should have National 5/GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 - Lifeskill Maths and Application of Maths NOT accepted in lieu of Maths. Higher Applications of Maths accepted at C.
