Course summary
Step from technical depth to cyber leadership with Walbrook’s CMI-accredited MBA Cyber Security. Demand for leaders who can shape security strategy and govern cyber resilience at board level has never been higher. The UK's cyber security sector generated £13.2 billion last year, with over 6,600 new roles created according to Cyber Security Sectoral Analysis. That's because cyber security is no longer just an IT function. It's a strategic discipline that sits at board level in every sector, protecting operations, managing risk and governing how organisations respond to an increasingly complex threat landscape. At Walbrook, you'll develop the skills to lead security teams, translate complex threats into organisational decisions, and position cyber security as a business priority. The programme combines core MBA modules in strategy, change management and financial intelligence with focused application across operations, compliance and leadership. And when it comes to study, learning is designed around your life. Start any month from April 2026. Study full-time and graduate in 14 months, or choose part-time and progress module by module, 100% online – with the freedom to choose your weekly pace, follow structured timelines, and access dedicated support when you need it. Fully accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), you can be confident this course meets professional standards in management education – while also giving you CMI membership that connects you to global networks and puts you on the path to Chartered Manager status.
Modules
Every cyber decision is a business decision. You’ll map how threats impact people, process and technology, deciding what to protect and why it counts, and planning how to keep the business moving when pressure rises. Build the management toolkit that turns intent into practice. You'll work through strategy, change management, financial intelligence and digital risk, learning how to assess threats through a business lens, build security frameworks that don't strangle innovation, and translate technical complexity into direction people can act on. Explore how security integrates across operations, compliance and leadership. Learn to manage teams when priorities shift. Position cyber as a business enabler, not just a cost centre. By the end of your MBA, you'll have the breadth to lead security at senior level, where the challenge isn't just technical, it's strategic.
