Course summary
This HNC programme offers you the opportunity to study a Higher National Certificate in Public Services which will help you develop as a professional, self-reflecting individual who can meet the demands of employers in the public services sector. The course will support you in the ever-changing world of the public services, focusing on integrated emergency management, serious organised crime, terrorism and counter terrorism. The Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Public Services consists of modules covering all aspects of Protective Services from Mental Health and Wellbeing to Counter Terrorism. The course has been set out to give you the best possible starting point to enter into your chosen Public Service, giving not only the theoretical knowledge to succeed but the practical skills too. The course places an emphasis on understanding people, communities and the law with a focus on practical skills to enter into the Public Services. The course will be assessed by coursework assignments with research tasks. This course can be followed by our Higher National Diploma in Public Services.

Assessment method
The Higher National Certificate in Public Services is coursework based which has no examinations. The students are assessed through a variety of written and in some cases verbal tasks. This assessment method has benefited those students who feel less comfortable with exams.
