Course summary

Would you describe yourself as caring and compassionate? Nursing could be the career for you. Combine theory and practical experience while exploring nursing for children. Gain eligibility to register as a qualified children’s nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Children’s nurses work in partnership with families to compassionately treat children and young people with acute and complex care needs, including life-limiting conditions. During our BSc (Hons) Nursing (Child) degree you’ll learn techniques for offering comfort and reassurance to patients and their families in difficult circumstances. Study the approaches you’ll need to take to deliver care that’s sensitive to the child’s physical, developmental and emotional needs. Gain an understanding of the different settings in which you could be providing care, then develop your skills for the planning and delivery of interventions for positive health and wellbeing. Following graduation, you’ll be eligible to register as a qualified children’s nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
