Release your enthusiasm for nurturing your creativity, ideas and intuition within a thriving community of artists, and influencing the future of contemporary art with the Pearson BTEC Fine Art HND Level 5. Become a professional, self-reflecting individual that can meet the demands of employers in the fine art sector and adapt to the constantly changing world of art. Prioritize 'learning through practice' to support ongoing professional development, and refine critical thinking, collaboration, independence, and creativity within an ethical, diverse, and sustainable framework, gaining skills relevant to diverse contemporary applications, including promoting and selling your work, curation, costing and networking. Whatever your choice of medium, we will encourage and support you in developing your practice and a substantial portfolio. As a Boston College student, you will have access to our Art and Design facilities, including printmaking, drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles and fashion, Apple Mac computers and industry-standard software, iPads, photography studio, darkroom, library and art shop. These resources will support your learning and help you develop the critical skills necessary to thrive in the fine art field. During your first year, you will study a Level 4 HNC. Upon successful completion of the first year, you will then progress on to the second year to study the Level 5 HND. Modules Include: Concept and Development: Develop your creative concepts and skills through various projects and assignments Creative Project: Apply your learning in a significant creative project that showcases your skills and understanding Live Projects: Work on live projects to build your clientele and professional network Personal Professional Development: Focus on your personal and professional growth, setting goals and strategies for your career Professional Project: Undertake a major project that demonstrates your professional skills and knowledge Throughout this course, you will develop competence and confidence by: Developing ideas and concepts through brainstorming, research, and critical thinking Learning a variety of fashion and textiles approaches paired with a historical and theoretical foundation to encourage debate and reimagine the future of fashion and textiles practice Learning how to contextualise your work and think practically about your audience while exploring collaborative, collective and socially engaged approaches Learning how to display clothing and garments effectively Developing business skills such as sales and promotion, growing your audience, curation contracts, costing jobs and presenting your outcomes Working with external agencies and clients to gain professional experience and networking opportunities

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - MMP
In order to study the Fine Art HND Level 5, you will need to have successfully completed: An MMP at Level 3 in a related subject, or Access to Higher Education qualification, or an A Level equivalent (minimum 80 new UCAS points) in related subjects. GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 and/or minimum IELTS score of 6.
