The BCS-accredited BSc (Hons) Computer Science teaches you the fundamentals of computer science, advanced programming and coding skills and how to solve computational problems. You’ll benefit from the latest insight from our leading academics/researchers. Their expertise spans software engineering, intelligent systems and object-oriented programming, real-time and embedded systems, parallel processing, image processing and databases. As well as opportunities to work on ‘live’ briefs with industry, you will also have the chance to hear from current practitioners, which recently included Google’s Lead for Web and Chrome Developer. To boost your employability, we place a strong emphasis on real-world learning, problem-solving and developing your professional and ethical conduct, equipping you with highly sought-after personal, practical and theoretical skills. Our status as an Oracle Academy institutional member gives you access to world-class technology and software. ‘Placement Year’ and 'International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time.
