Study fascinating subjects Business Management and Accounting prepares you for a variety of roles within business, management or accounting industries, as well as bring business acumen to other non-business roles. We place a great emphasis on practical, real-world learning through industry projects, links with our overseas partners, and the chance to take a placement year between your second and third year. Professionally accredited Our course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute, and students receive this accreditation if they pass the Business Management modules in their first year and select and pass required modules in their second year. You’ll also have the chance to gain Accounting accreditations too depending on your module choice. Tailor your degree With a range of optional modules across areas such as logistics, human resource management, marketing, enterprise and finance, you’ll be able to tailor your studies to your area of interest and your career goals. Specialist facilities You’ll have the chance to use our specialist facilities such as our Financial Markets lab enables students to get hands on with industry standard software that's relied on by financial professionals all over the world. We place a great emphasis on practical, real-world learning through industry projects, links with our overseas partners, and the chance to take a placement year between your second and third year. HOW YOU’LL LEARN: You’ll be taught through several learning and teaching methods, such as formal lectures, which will at times include expert speakers, and seminars. Seminars can be tutor-led or student-led and can include critical analysis of reading, presentations, group work, debates and general problem solving, interaction with real businesses, case study analysis, computer lab work, practical analysis and formative assessment.

YOUR CAREER: This degree sets students up for a range of future careers in the Business or Accountancy field, past graduates have gone on to work for employers such as Nationwide Building Society, Jaguar Land Rover Ltd, Rolls Royce and Derby City Council. Our links with major employers in the area offer the students opportunities to network, build contacts and develop their confidence, adding to their employability.
