Course summary
This programme is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to access and progress to degree level study or employment in 3D Design, and specifically the jewellery and design sector. The programme provides an opportunity for students to develop and enhance previously gained complex technical skills in 3D Design with a focus on jewellery manufacturing and design. The vocational orientation of the programme is achieved via an applied and contextualised approach to learning. It provides an opportunity for those who have an interest in jewellery design to explore, develop and test their practical skills & creativity within a qualification structure that is stimulating and demanding. The programme also encourages the development of lifelong learning and transferable skills.
Modules
Level 4: Professional Development (15 Credit), Contextual Studies (15 Credit), Individual Project (15 Credit), Techniques and Processes (15 Credit), 3D Practices (15 Credit), Computer Aided Design (15 Credit), Material Structures (15 Credit), Art/Design Production (15 Credit).
Assessment method
Assessment is both summative and formative. Formative assessments will take place at several intervals during the course. Feedback, both formal and informal, is maximised throughout the programme and may take the form of individual tutorials, presentations, essays, portfolios, and module assessments. Students are given regular feedback/feed-forward through interaction in the classroom, and/or via virtual learning environment (VLE)
