Course summary
Our department is one of the UK’s leading research hubs in pharmaceutical science, whose output is consistently ranked among the very best in the field. Research in pharmaceutical and pharmacological sciences touches all aspects of the design and use of drugs and medicines. These include drug discovery, formulation and delivery, neuroscience, regenerative medicine, immunology, infection and immunity, pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacy practice. Study in these areas provides the chance to experience cutting edge research that is directly relevant to some of today’s major challenges in healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry. Our graduates have gone on to work in academic positions in the UK, Egypt, Saudi-Arabia, Thailand, as well as positions in pharmaceutical industry research, regulatory affairs, academic publishing, management positions in UK research councils, recruitment consultancy, medical practitioners. Entry requirements
First or upper second class honours degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate subject. In certain circumstances we may be able to consider a candidate with a lower second class honours degree or equivalent if the candidate has several years of relevant appropriate industrial or clinical experience. English Language requirements - IELTS: 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in all components - The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): 62 with no less than 59 in any element - TOEFL IBT: 90 overall with a minimum 21 in all 4 components You will need to get your English language qualification within 24 months prior to starting your course. If you need to improve your English language skills before starting your studies, you may be able to take a pre-sessional course to reach the required level.
