Course summary
Students will develop the creative, technical and employability skills essential for working in today’s highly diverse performing arts industry. This course focuses strongly on re-imagining traditional theatre forms (Mask, Puppet, Commedia Dell'arte) many of which, while strongly present in actor training in Europe and further abroad, are slowly disappearing from contemporary actor training in the UK. Students become members of our performance company, ‘Brazen Angels’, developing performance work for, and liaising with, a broad range of clients and situations throughout the year. Academic skills, such as the ability to conduct research, to critically evaluate source materials, theoretical approaches and arguments, and to write effectively and persuasively are fundamental to the programme.
