Note: Due to the course delivery location and visa restrictions, this course is NOT accepting applications from international students requiring a Student Visa. Location: This is an award of Teesside University delivered in partnership with Hartlepool College (campus code 5, call 01429 295000) and Redcar and Cleveland College (campus code 6, call 01642 473132). Course overview: This one year HNC is for you if you'd like to work as a technician/technician engineer in mechanical engineering design, manufacture, maintenance and testing. The course has been developed in consultation with local industry and combines theory and practical work with the focus being on industrial applications. It provides a programme of study over a range of disciplines to help you develop skills to progress your career through employment or further education at degree level. After the course: This award opens up the possibility of a career in a wide range of engineering disciplines including design, manufacturing, project management and IT. It provides you with the opportunity to seek career development into senior positions in national and international companies. Alternatively, you may seek further study to HND, degree level and beyond.

Entry requirements

Qualification requirements

You need an appropriate technician or craft qualification at level 3 or similar, and a good standard of literacy and numeracy skills. Eligible qualifications include A levels, BTEC Extended Diplomas/National Diplomas and Access to Higher Education Diplomas. We may also consider substantial work experience in a relevant area. If you have non-traditional qualifications, or wish to discuss your eligibility, please contact our admissions team. Due to the course delivery location and visa restrictions, this course is NOT available to international students requiring a Tier 4 visa.
