Course summary

The international business world is ever changing and challenging. On this course, you’ll develop an understanding of how globalisation shapes business decisions. You’ll gain the confidence to manage organisations and make reliable decisions in an international context. This MSc is for you if you plan to pursue a career in an international enterprise, or wish to understand the complexities of doing business in the contemporary global business environment. Throughout your studies, you’ll:

  • learn about the economic, cultural, legal and political differences in the international business environment
  • study critical business processes and managerial functions such as accounting and marketing
  • explore socially responsible and sustainable management practices and why they are essential for businesses to succeed
  • gain skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods, and apply them in your own research projects.
You have the opportunity to tailor your degree to your interests. Choose from a range of options including ethics and organisations, globalisation and integration, international human resource management, and innovation for sustainability. You’re taught by lecturers, together with internationally recognised researchers whose expertise informs their teaching. Some of our lecturers have worked in industry and bring real-world experience into the learning environment. We combine research- and practice-based learning, giving you the opportunity to develop essential skills, knowledge and expertise for a successful career. Assessment method

Modules are assessed by a combination of coursework, unseen tests, essays, extended essays and a research project.


Entry requirements

You should have a lower second-class (2.2) undergraduate honours degree or above (including an average mark of at least 57%). Your qualification can be in any subject. You may also be considered for the course if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.
