Course summary

Gain the skills needed for roles that apply the science of psychology to business on this flexible accredited master’s taught by Loughborough’s team of academics and experienced professionals. Understanding human behaviour in the working environment is critical to success in business –enabling companies to enhance the working lives of individuals while increasing organisational efficiency and growth. This master’s is designed for students who have an undergraduate degree with a substantial business, management or social science component and is accredited by the Association for Business Psychology. If you have completed a BPS accredited psychology degree, you can take the MSc Work Psychology, which is our mirror course with different accreditation. Apply your learning to real-world challenges On the MSc Business Psychology, you’ll deepen your knowledge of the principles, models and theories of psychology. Crucially, you’ll develop your ability to apply them to a wide range of organisational issues including change management, employee selection, leadership and wellbeing. You’ll explore these in the context of contemporary issues such as AI, hybrid working and sustainability so you’re well prepared to address some of the most pressing challenges facing organisations today and into the future. Flexible study options and immersive teaching Whether you choose to study full or part-time over two years, each module is delivered as a two week block – meaning you’ll be immersed in that particular topic through online activities, group work, workshops, presentations and discussion. Taught by academics and professionals with experience of various sectors, the programme has a strong emphasis on the practical skills you’ll need in your career, such as ethical practice, communicating to different audiences and the consultancy cycle. It means you’ll graduate ready to make an impact at whichever level and sector you choose to go into.

Assessment method

All modules are assessed through a mix of group and individual coursework assignments, which will require you to examine the links between theory and practice. Skills relevant to applied practice in organisations will also be developed through your assessed work.
