What you will learn With a focus on positive sustainable change and development within the hospitality business, you will examine customer experience management, service delivery, management and operational structure within a global context. You will gain knowledge of the hospitality industry across a range of modules embracing the diverse cultural and geographic aspects of the industry including in employee engagement strategies, motivation and career planning, and digital innovation for service delivery and marketing. You will also have the chance to acquire in-depth applied insight into the operations of service-oriented businesses. You will take part in tasks involving business decisions and drawing on key concepts of operations management and their underpinning theories to grow hospitality venues. How you will learn This course is available full- or part-time with classes taking place in the evening at either Birkbeck or Le Cordon Bleu. Some modules may also offer classes in the afternoon. These consist of lectures and seminars and you will also gain practical experience through case studies, industry professional guest speakers, field trips and use of hotel management simulation software. Assessment method

Modes of assessment include reports, presentations, essays and examinations. The final module gives you the opportunity to undertake and report on an applied research project on a topic of your choice.

How to apply

International applicants

If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub-tests.

Entry requirements

Our standard postgraduate entry requirement is a second-class honours degree (2:2 or above) from a UK university, or an equivalent international qualification. Applications are reviewed on their individual merits and your professional qualifications and/or relevant work experience will be taken into consideration positively. We actively support and encourage applications from mature learners.
