Course summary

Course Overview Want a gateway into the games industries? BIMM University's practical Cert HE courses offer an introduction to the dynamic disciplines of games development. The CertHE Animation introductory programme designed to equip you with the foundational creative and technical skills required for further study or entry-level roles in the animation and visual effects industries. Focused on both 2D and 3D animation, the course introduces you to industry-standard tools, core animation principles, and real-time workflows used across film, television, and games. Through hands-on projects and collaborative practice, you will explore key areas such as character animation rigging basics, and performance-based animation. With a focus on practical making of animated works, the course prioritises creative experimentation, iteration, and production of short animated sequences to build confidence and fluency in animation. Delivered within an inclusive and supportive learning environment, the course is structured using a Universal Design for Learning framework, ensuring accessibility for students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.
