Modules from the School of Business and Management make up a quarter of our programme – you’ll learn about financial management, marketing, strategy and human resources. Then you’ll spend most of your week in the School of Geography learning about issues defining our present, like international development, geopolitics and the changing nature of work. Many of our modules contain fieldwork in London, the UK and overseas too. Maybe you’ll head to Spitalfields market to examine urban consumption or travel to Boston to meet climate change activists and tech entrepreneurs.  Put your practical skills into action You’ll be driven to create a positive impact by our expert researchers. Imagine being taught by leaders who’ve had research included in ground-breaking climate change reports and others who’ve featured on BBC Panorama. We’ll support you as you develop your own versatile skills portfolio. That looks like coaching and mentoring through dedicated careers support, alumni networking, and help with finding projects in local charities and internships in local businesses or start-ups. Flights, shared accommodation, transport in Malta and meals will not cost you anything extra on this compulsory module. Students are responsible for securing their own visas, if required.

Assessment method

Modules are assessed through a combination of coursework and examination. Coursework may include extended essays, short reports, posters, oral presentations and group work. Students must also complete a final-year independent study project of 10,000 words, based on an original study of their choice.
