Course summary

We have collaborated with Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) to create an exciting programme of study in Fire Scene Investigation which will see you investigate the cause and origin of fires, using multi-disciplinary science and research methodology.

  • For your dissertation you’ll get to study an area of fire science that interests you, taking responsibility for designing, conducting, analysing and interpreting the results of a substantial investigation that’ll also be contributing to the discipline.
  • You’ll gain valuable work experience with an opportunity to undertake a professional placement as part of your MSc, or choose an industry-based project.

Entry requirements

Applicants should hold at least 2:2 degree in related subject such as Forensic Science or Chemistry or Fire Safety. Higher National Certificate or Higher National Diploma in an appropriate discipline combined with appropriate professional experience.
