Course summary

The study of natural and artificial intelligent and adaptive systems is at the heart of rapidly developing areas. These range from artificial intelligence and autonomous robotics to neuroscience, consciousness and cognitive science. This MSc prepares you for research and development in intelligent and adaptive systems. You'll cover theoretical issues and practical techniques for their design and implementation. You can choose to organise your studies around one of these areas:

  • artificial intelligence and cognitive modelling
  • robotics and autonomous systems
  • data science, machine learning and natural language processing
  • computational biology and consciousness science.
You’ll learn from experts at the forefront of their fields. We host the Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems Research Group, the Data Science Research Group and the Sackler Centre for Consciousness Science. We also have many successful business collaborations. We understand that deciding where and what to study is a very important decision. We’ll make all reasonable efforts to provide you with the courses, services and facilities described in this prospectus. However, if we need to make material changes, for example due to government or regulatory requirements, or unanticipated staff changes, we’ll let you know as soon as possible.
