Course summary

Environmental and Civil Engineering is concerned with the impact of infrastructure on the natural environment. It encompasses planning, design, construction, sustainability and management of the built environment. Fields of activity include water engineering, waste management, structures, transportation and foundations. Environmental engineers require not only technical skills but also project management and communication skills. Civil Engineering was one of the founding degrees at Queen's, making it one of the oldest in the UK and Ireland. Staff are leading high-quality research and are recognised for their excellence in teaching.

Qualification requirements

GCSE Mathematics at grade B/6 or better. Scottish National 5 Mathematics at grade B or better. In all cases where Physics is not offered at A-level or at Scottish Higher/Advanced Higher, applicants must have a minimum of grade B/6 in GCSE Physics/grades BB/66 in Double Award Science (not Applied), or grade B in National 5 Physics.
