The Foundation Year serves as an essential stepping stone into university-level study and business education. During this introductory phase, you’ll develop core academic and digital skills, including writing, research and presentation techniques. In your first year, you will build a solid understanding of how businesses operate within legal frameworks. In your second year, you will deepen your knowledge and legal understanding, whilst enhancing your practical skills. The professional experience year, offered after your second year of study, gives you the opportunity to put your skills and knowledge into practice, improve your employability and earn a salary for the work you do. In the final year, you will focus on advanced topics including company law, management in law, AI and business ethics, preparing you for a career in business, management or law. / Year 1: Understanding Organisations, Digital and Business Skills, Economics, Business and the Legal Environment, Data Analysis for Business, The Future of Business. / Year 2: Commercial Law, Employment Law, Legal Aspects of Business, Project Management, Business Intelligence and Dashboards, Live Project in Business Law. / Year 3: Company Law, Leadership and Management in Business Law, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence and the Law, Business Ethics and Sustainability, Strategic Management.
Assessment method
Through a combination of lectures, seminars and tutorials, using learning activities such as business simulations, you will develop the practical skills and theoretical knowledge that you'll need when you begin working. Our academics are experts in their field and work closely with industry to ensure that our courses reflect the needs of businesses. We use different assessment techniques in different modules and try to ensure all assessments reflect the types of work you will do after graduating. This may include portfolio work, multiple choice questions, group reports and problem-solving questions.
