Course summary

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a postgraduate general business programme that develops individuals seeking mid to higher management roles. The programme covers a broad range of core business and management topics, enabling a well-rounded programme of study. • The student friendly 30 credit module structure of the programme provides a readily navigated route to achieving an internationally recognised MBA qualification. • Emphasis is placed on strategic management and responsible decision-making across all modules. • The core research project provides opportunities to solve real business challenges. • Project supervisors are drawn from the wide range of subject expert staff across Plymouth Business School including: Digital Media, Tourism & Hospitality, Human Resource Management, International Business and Accounting and Finance. • The assessment strategy enables students to undertake focused authentic assessment. • The programme places emphasis on the development of responsible and reflective management and leadership. • The programme has embedded a start to finish Postgraduate Personal and Professional Development module which is not formally assessed and is designed to provide additional wraparound support in terms of professional and critical skills development and reflection.

Assessment method

2:2 honours degree or equivalent. Equivalent professional qualifications and substantial relevant experience will be considered on an individual basis. Candidates whose first language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each element) or equivalent. If the applicant's English language does not meet the above standard at point of application there may be an opportunity to complete one of the University’s pre-sessional English language courses.

Qualified teacher status (QTS)

To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:

To comply with our duties as a Sponsor, we're required to check other aspects of your application in addition to your academic achievements, for example any previous studies, financial status and your immigration history in the UK.
