Course information This course will interest anyone with an enthusiasm for sport, exercise and health, coaching, teaching, sports science and sports therapy. All modules integrate theory and practice using the experience gained from involvement in sport. The course is designed to meet the needs of employers such as local authorities, sports facilities and public and private providers in sport and leisure industry. Students study ( Some optional units can be subject to change) Level 4 HNC 120 credit Unit 1 Nutrition (15 Credits) - Core Unit 2 Fundamentals of Sport & Exercise Psychology (15 Credits) - Core Unit 3 Anatomy & Physiology (15 Credits) - Core Unit 4 Professional Skills (Pearson-set) (15 Credits) - Core Unit 6: Training, Fitness, Testing (15 Credits) - Option Unit 7: Physical Activity, Lifestyle and Health (15 Credits) - Option Unit 9 Biomechanics (15 Credits) - Option Unit 10 Technology in Sport (15 Credits) - Option In the second year, students study at Level 5 120 additional credits - Unit 14: Research Project (Pearson-set) (30 Credits) - Core Unit 18: Exercise Prescription (15 Credits) - Option Unit 31: Biochemistry of Exercise (15 Credits) - Option Unit 26: Exercise Physiology (15 Credits)- Option Unit 27: Advanced Nutrition (15 Credits) - Option Unit 33: Strength & Conditioning for Coaching (15 Credits) - Option Unit 32: Psychology for Performance (15 Credits) - Option
