The HND Digital Technologies for England (Artificial Intelligence Solutions and Applications) is a workplace qualification course delivered over two years. With a focus on Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies, students will develop a deeper understanding of the theoretical foundation of Artificial Intelligence (AI), its types and areas of application. The course is aligned with Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals Certification. This course builds broader technical understanding and skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, data analysis, reasoning, interpretation, and computer software literacy, which are crucial for professional practice and workplace competence in a digital world. These industry-led skills are crucial for gaining employment in a growing field. Learners will develop a better understanding of Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI), Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), Ambient Intelligence and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms. They will learn to analyse the approaches, techniques and tools to deploy Intelligent Systems. This course will give students the skills to manage AI-based systems and apply them to real world problems, as well as evaluate the technical and ethical challenges and opportunities of Intelligent Systems. Students will also learn about programming, cloud computing, cyber security, big data and analytic techniques. They will be able to evaluate how the use of digital technology impacts on an organisation’s strategy and operations to meet its needs.

Applicants for undergraduate programmes whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate their ability to understand and express themselves in both written and spoken English sufficient for them to derive full benefit from and succeed in passing their chosen programme. The level required for entry onto the HND is typically an overall score of IELTS 5.5 or above. If you do not have evidence of your level of English language, we can test you with the Pearson Versant Test of English.
